The Trials and Tribulations Of Michael Collinson
Out up and early today, off to watch Josh play football v Hepworth, near Holmfirth. The rain seems to have blown over but it still doesn’t look too appealing out there! Very windy and cold I expect too, especially stuck on the touchline, half way up a hill. Hope it’s worth it and they get a much needed win.
My Dad and I together with Josh, made the trip to Scholes, near Cleckheaton, this morning, for a Keborough match. As is usually the case, it was a freezing cold, blustery morning. The kids seemed unaffected by it all though, and Kexborough ran out comfortable 3-0 winners. That consolodates their 3rd place league spot for now. Josh had a fairly quiet game but was effective nonetheless, especially down the wing.
It was a fitting close to my timr with Josh this weekend. We’ve watched football, played football, taken the radio controlled cars out and generally done good Dad and Son things. He’s only been gone a few hours and I miss him loads already but roll on Monday when I see him again.
I’ve just got back from watching Josh play football this morning and it was nice to see the team get back to winning ways, with a hard fought 2-1 victory. It was difficult conditions for the boys, with a str0ng wind causing all sorts of problems. Josh took his time getting involved in the match and got kicked in the first half, but he managed to run the knock off and played very well in the 2nd half, scoring the winner with just a minute to go, capping a fine move. Let’s hope the confidence comes back to the team and they will start to play like they were at the start of the season.

20 Feb 2009It’s my son’s birthday today and after everything he’s been through over the last 6 months, I just want to say a huge happy birthday to him!! Can’t wait to see you buddy!
I’m mad. No, scrub that, I’m fucking fuming. When I left the house, after the split, I left my Playstation 3 at home, so that my son could still play with it. At my Mum and Dads, I bought another one for myself. Today, whilst online with the PS3, I noticed that my PS3 that was left at home, was also online, so naturally assumed that my son was playing on it. I sent him a message to say hi, but it wasnt received, so I sent another. Again, no reply. 30 seconds later, and the person who was logged on at home, went offline.
I reckon it was not unreasonable to assume that someone other than my son was logged on, so I sent a message to the ex asking if he had been logged on. No reply. The only conclusion I can come up with is that my ex’s new boyfriend was logged on to my Playstation, in my house!!! Fuck me, I was so mad. That’s it, I sent another text, saying that I wanted the PS3 back, tomorrrow. No way is her new bloke playing on my PS3. The cheek of it!! Am I being unreasonable? Is it fair on my son? I just cant take anymore of it!!!

13 Feb 2009Tomorrow is another milestone in my life since the split. It will be my first Valentine’s Day as a single guy for 13 years, and just like my birthday was and Christmas and the New Year, I guess it will all be a bit strange and difficult at times. Still, at least I dont have to spend ages picking a card or flowers. Everything has it’s plus side!
I’ve got Josh tomorrow morning and then I’m out tomorrow night, so at least my mind will be off it a little. To be honest, it’s not too bad now. It’s been nearly 6 months now since the split, and time is beginning to heal. I wish I had started this blog when it first all went off – my emotions then were out of control and it would make it interesting reading looking back now. I suppose I’m now very much in the bitter stage now. I have to stay normal for Josh though – she still is him Mum after all!

8 Feb 2009Josh goes home in 20 minutes. I hate Sunday mornings. I’ll see you tomorrow though big man. This is the worst thing about the marriage split and what I hate her for most – taking away my boy.

25 Jan 2009My son plays football for his local team. I went to watch him this morning, in surprisingly good conditions to normal. The ground was soft, but not muddy and the grass was cut nice and tight. The best pitch, in other words, this season.
